This Burning Earth

This Burning Earth is a heavy metal quartet from the small town of Chillicothe, Illinois. The band itself was spawned when Justin Graze (vocalist), who had known the guitarist, Jeff Anthony for roughly 5 years, came up with the idea to practice covering their favorite music. The two started covering Pantera, Cannibal Corpse, Coal Chamber, and many other heavy metal bands, track after track, often times playing entire albums without a break. The two started writing songs on their own shortly after that. After the first few tracks, the name "Devouring Feces" continued to grow on the two and for a brief period, that was what they called themselves.

Shortly after writing their first 7 tracks, the group then known as "Devouring Feces" decided that this was going to be more than a project. They swiftly recruited Dick Justice and Austin to support them on the rhythm section. Dick and Austin play bass and drums, respectively. Once the four got together, it was "Finally Dying" that they had decided for the band name. It was to be shortly lived. The four, after finding out what the 'message' was going to be, decided that This Burning Earth would be the "official name" of this group.

They continued to rehearse, incorporating various cover songs into their set list and eventually This Burning Earth went to F5 Studios in Mossville, Illinois, in September of 2006 to record 3 demo tracks. The 3 tracks featured on the "Finally Dying EP" are: Abducted, This Desperate Lie, and Malice. They have since discontinued the song This Desperate Lie, and have replaced it with countless originals. The live set list they play can now easily be 1.5 hours.

As of this moment, This Burning Earth is currently finishing a 7 song as-yet untitled album, which should be released in April of 2008.
