Top 10 Nintendo Franchises That Need to be Revived on Wii

Yeah, I know I've been doing a lot of Wii posts in the last 6 months, but I go with what inspires me.

With the Wii being Nintendo's best selling console since the SNES (and arguably since the NES), there is a lot of potential for its games and I feel the best has yet to come.

The rules that I used in order to qualify for this list are as follows:

- There must not of been a game released for the GameCube.
- Punch-Out!! Wii has been announced, so its not going in the list. Otherwise, it'd win #1.
- Individual Mario franchises will be counted.
- I am not going to count handheld appearances.

Well, that's basically it. So, Nintendo 64 or before, it is!

10. Ice Climber

Hey, the Ice Climber game was one of the earlier titles for the system that started it all... the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Top 10 Christmas Movies

So today's holiday post is about my favorite Christmas movies! Go ahead make your own list too :P So onto my favorites from 10 down to number 1:

#10 Edward Scissorhands- This is only last in the list because generally people don't consider it a "Christmas" movie. However it does culminate at Christmas and it is a story about how snow was made, not to mention the ever present moral which is a part of all Christmas movies. Plus, it has Johnny Depp and beautiful cinematography. It's worth watching at Christmas if only for the scene where Edward is carving the gigantic angel.

#9 The Muppet Christmas Carol- Yes I am a Muppet's buff. Since The Muppets and John Denver a Christmas Together is really more of a tv special than a movie and since I only have it on vinyl and not even on VHS off of tv, this goes on the list as my Muppet movie for Christmas. Really anything with The Muppets is worth watching IMHO.

Top 10 Games That MUST be Released for Wii Virtual Console

Two months ago, I did 10 Possibly Overlooked Games That I'd Like To See on the Virtual Console for Wii. Well, I am back with a sequel Top 10 Games That MUST be Released for Wii Virtual Console! Woo!

In this list, I have included, at least, 1 game from each console's gaming libraries that are right now presently on the Virtual Console. This list is for games that have not been released in America on the Virtual Console, as I know of at least two games on this list that have been released for other nation's VC libraries.

First, Some Honorable Mentions:

- Earthbound (SNES)
- Star Fox (SNES)
- Super Punch-Out!! (SNES)

- Resident Evil 2 (N64) (Note: Would have been included had I not tried to include a game from each console. So consider RE2 #11. Unlike Spinal Tap, this list does not go to eleven.)

10 of the Dumbest Slasher Films Out There

Back in the early 1980s, a trend started in the film industry for what is called "The Slasher Film." Basically, unstoppable insane maniac, usually in a mask, kills a bunch of teenagers with a sharp object of some sorts, only to be overtaken by the only surviving virtuous "final girl." They made a lot of money and they were extremely cheap to produce. So, you saw one open up at #1 in the theaters damn near every weekend from 1981 to 1983.

So I get asked quite often "You like those movies? They aren't even scary. They're just showing gore."

You're right, most of them aren't scary or even disturbing. I don't watch the movies for the gore at all. Although, you have to respect them because they made a lot of makeup and special effect advances with these films whether you like it or not. I watch the movies because I love things that are cliche'd. 99% of these movies are cliche's. 90% of them aren't even worth watching. The "gore" usually isn't even realistic at all. The acting usually makes Purple Rain look like a masterpiece. I end up laughing half the time because they are really trying to scare you and it just doesn't work.

10 Bad Costume Ideas You Can Actually Purchase

Welcome to another Ten list! I have been having fun writing these lately, so I'm just going with it what has been interesting me.

Halloween is around the corner! That means it is costume time! BOO YEAH!

Now, you'll see some fantastic costumes. Last year at my company's Halloween party, someone did a terrific Dorothy from Wizard of Oz complete with Toto!

Then, you'll see some half-assed costumes. You'll see some offensive costumes. You'll see some "what were they thinking?!" costumes.

I have found 10 costume ideas that are actually sold on the internet (and probably in stores). I found that that these are either poorly done, offensive, or just stupid altogether.

10. Cow with Utters

I have seen this type of costume for years, and every time, its the utters that totally get to me.

My Personal Top 10 Best Horror Movie Monsters, Enemies, and Entities

The other day, I ran into this list called: "The Nine Most Infamous Horror Villains of That Haunt Your Worst Nightmares..."

Yeah, I don't know what the fuck that title means either. It pissed me off because, aside from how poorly written the whole blog was, the selection, I felt, was horribly flawed. Yes, it is just someone's random list, but I can still be irritated by reading it.

So, I decided to make my own list, which I personally feel is much better.

Instead of going with the most scariest, I am going to go with what I feel are the top monsters, enemies, and entities. They may not be the scariest, but they could be the most infamous when associated with horror films.

First, a few honorable mentions:

- The Shark from JAWS
- Leatherface
- Pennywise

(NOTE: Unfortunately, It was not a movie, but rather a TV mini series [and yes, based on the much better Stephen King novel]. Otherwise, I would include him, but I like to avoid douchebag comments as much as possible, so I had to disqualify him. However, Pennywise the Dancing Clown deserves his props anyway.)

10. Jason Voorhees (From Friday the 13th)

While Jason has NEVER scared me, personally, outside of maybe the boat sequence in first Friday the 13th, I have to put him here because he is an icon of the Slasher genre and is probably one of the most associated character with 1980s horror movies and horror movies in general.

Jason, as a child, had alledgedly drowned at Camp Crystal Lake after the guidance counselors were too busy having sex and not watching the children. His mother killed anyone who came near the camp in his name. However, after she was murdered, Jason sought vengeance.

He may have became a parody of himself before it was all over with, but you still can't argue that he doesn't belong on this list. If nothing else, he changed hockey masks for everyone!

10 of the Top Engrish Video Game Translations (That Does Not Include Zero Wing)

One thing you find in video games, especially anything released before the Playstation came out, is a lot of horribly translations. Why is that? Because most video games originate in Japan. Back then, the video game market wasn't this big production that it is now, so often you had the game get a half-assed translation from someone who uses English as their 2nd language. But hey, the games were great anyway!

So, for this edition of "Ten," I have compiled Ten of the best Engrish Video Game Translations That Does Not Include Zero Wing. Zero Wing gets the award for worst translated game and most people can find that everywhere. Its been done to death.

Now, these aren't the top 10, by any means. These are just 10 ones I can think off of the top of my head that stuck out.

10. Super Mario Bros. 3: One Toot

Man, they couldn't of think of any possible better word than toot? Well, I guess "blow" is a thousand times worse....

Def Leppard - Photograph Probably my earliest memory of music, along with Dire Straits - Money for Nothing. So as you can guess it’s a bit of a classic I like to listen to every now and then.

Millencolin - Montego My favourite Swedish band (like I know of any others…). This one is very aggressive and just is just great to have on if you are angry or stressed out.

10 Possibly Overlooked Games That I'd Like To See on the Wii Virtual Console

Now over the next few years, we know that we are going to be treated to some all time greats.

There are many obvious games that should come out like Donkey Kong 64, Castlevania III, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Resident Evil 2, the Final Fantasy games, and more.

However, there are several titles that I am sure the majority of consumers and probably the majority of the game producers haven't even thought of, or didn't give it too much thought. I am covering 10 selections that I have made for this

10. Lemmings (NES, SNES, or Genesis)

OH NO! Lemmings is both an addicting and quite sadistic puzzle game where you must get a percentage of Lemmings home. It has been released for so many consoles and if I was to go with a specific port of this game, it would be the Genesis because it also includes some levels from "Oh No! More Lemmings!"

We are back with Classic Fries! Every Saturday, we will pull something from The Museum and reprint it for those to enjoy! This gives those a chance who never got a chance to read it the first time a second chance, since the Museum itself is so large and its hard for anyone to decide where to begin.

Today, we will be digging from the archives of 2D Gaming Central. I wrote this in 2003, so there has been about 500 Mario games since then, but it is an interesting look at some of the all-time classic Mario games.

The Top Ten Worst Lyrics of All Time

When looking back at some of the bad lyrics we have had the pleasure of listening to all of these years, FlareHolyMeteo and I came to the conclusion that "The Top 10 Worst Lyrics of All Time" can easily consist of one band.
