Flare Time Vol. 23 - Stupid Shit

FlareHolyMeteo

Hello, everyone. This is FlareHolyMeteo here with another crazy-ass rant. This time, I just touch general annoyances that I've either thought about at random or have ran into for a while. Some of these things are random as hell, so be prepared to be surprised and delighted. Here I go:

1. The term "ethnic foods."

I thought about this term randomly when playing Xenosaga. I don't know why I did it. However, I came to thinking, aren't all foods ethnic?

People That Are Boring

Free-Floating Hostility

(Free Floating Hostility #23)

Welcome to the Internet's Favorite Online Rage Column! Welcome to Free Floating Hostility!

This is where I rant about Culture Items That I Am Bored of, Tired of, or Pissed At!

Today, I am going to do a series of rants about people that are boring or things that make us boring.

People Who Just Don't Seem To Understand That The Conversation Is Over - You run into these assholes all the fucking time, y'know? People who just keep telling you the details of their life. It keeps going on and on and on. You just want to stab your ears with a q-tip after seventeen minutes of this shit, you know.

Here is an actual transcription from a conversation I had with a co-worker about two weeks ago. The following conversation is NOT MADE UP. This is something that I just had to fucking endure:

"So one time when I was touring Florida, we had Shark Sandwiches and Bloody Pudding. Although I didn't have the bloody pudding because that's just disgusting. You know, I don't get how people could mix blood in their pudding. Isn't that just gross? HA HA HA HA HA HA!

RJ45 Reviews Every Ozzy Osbourne Album

Pop Culture Archives
Welcome to a new column that I like to call "RJ45 Reviews Every.Album" Basically, I will provide mini-reviews of an entire artist's discography (excluding most of the compilations for obvious reasons). I would definitely like your feedback on what I hope to be a very popular column at some point. For the first edition, I take on one of rock's biggest legends.

Ozzy Osbourne is an icon. I like to call him "The Johnny Cash of Heavy Metal." Seriously, look at their careers and you will see where I draw some of the parallels. His successful career has now spanned over 30 years, starting off with his famed start in Black Sabbath and then moving onto an equally successful solo career.

In just under a month, Ozzy Osbourne will be releasing Black Rain. This will be his first studio album with original material since his 2001 Down to Earth effort. I will be reviewing his solo discography (ie.  No Black Sabbath material). I would like your feedback and your take on Ozzy's solo career!

1) People Who Wear Shirts of Bands They Don't Listen to - This is pretty much 99% of people in Misfits shirts and 80% of people in Ramones shirts. However now that Target, Wal-Mart, JC Penny and a few other stores have started making designer band shirts for affordable prices, the list of bands involved has grown dramatically. I can't stand seeing prissy chicks in AC/DC or Led Zeppelin shirts listening to Britney Spears on the radio. As far as the first two bands I mentioned, the majority of people I see in Misfits shirts I automatically lose respect for, even though I'm not a big fan. I know most people in their gear have never heard them and if it's just the skull symbol and not the band name on the shirt, they probably have no idea its even a band shirt. I am, however, a huge Ramones fan and I've encountered tons of people who wear their shirts just because they want to look like punks with no regards to the music. I've screamed at some of them. The irony of it being The Ramones probably have more in common musically with The Beach Boys than they do with other punk bands so those kids would more than likely be shocked to death to actually hear songs like California Sun, Howling at the Moon (Sha-la-la), or Surfin Bird.

Nefarious Kiss

Intensity bestows the silence left
Ripping away the notion of existence
Emptiness envelopes with heartless theft
Leaving behind an endless distance

Besieged my spirit slowly till death
Waking in terror but living the dream
Escaped with only my shell and my breath
Accepting some fault for my soul was unclean

Extracting light from the deepest cleft
Pulling up and out of the infinite abyss
Infinitely ascending but forever bereft
Nefarious entities assuring their sinister kiss

Essential Gamecube games for the Wii

Pop Culture Archives

Many people are buying the new Wii console from Nintendo, good for them as it is a great, innovative machine with plenty of potential. The system is frequently sold-out here in the UK, with customers still placed on a huge pre-order list. For those of us lucky enough to nab a Wii we get to enjoy such delights as Zelda: Twilight Princess and Wario Ware.
This is where the bad point come in. There aren’t that many games around at the moment *sadness*

So here be a list for all those Wii owners who missed out on a whole bunch of AMAZING games for Nintendo’s previous console, the Gamecube. I haven't included Mario games to give the thing a bit more variety rather than just typing out the however-many Mario games there are.

With the backwards compatibility of the Wii and a lot of shops selling old, cheap Gamecube games there is no reason why you can’t enjoy some of these classic gaming delights.

Grab a Cube controller pad and get gaming!

Metal Mania: Even More Bad Album Covers

Metal Mania

Tonight, I am having a party with some friends and we are basically going to get drunk and watch bad metal music videos.

People have B-Movie parties all the time, well this is something similar to that, only my spin on it is bad metal videos!

This is metal from all types ranging from Hair Bands to Thrash Metal to Nu-Metal to Black Metal. In preparation for the party, I have put together a collection of some bad album covers to come out of the metal scene.

We have a few previous editions right here:

1. Piledriver - Metal Inquisition

Okay, apparently a guitar can also double as a Jackhammer...

This is the E/N Elite Archive Machine!

E/N Elite website was a big thing among the originating members of WYLFWT.com. It was a collaborative blog website before having a blog was something everybody did. The first version existed from 2001 and ended in 2002. Second version was from 2003 to 2004, and the third version was from 2005 to 2007.

What we will be doing is posting some of the highlights every other week here on WYLFWT.com!

Title: Is RJ45 Nostradamus?

Stupid Fetishes & Paraphilias VI: People Are Just Fucked Up

RJ45 Sex Talk

Since I got such great feedback from the last edition, I have decided to go ahead and write another edition of "Stupid Fetishes & Paraphilias!"

Why in the hell would I subject to myself to such agony and torture? A long long time ago in a galaxy far far away, I took a sex survey provided by PervScan.com (the greatest weird news website EVER) and it asked me if I had ever asked my lover to incorporate a catheter into foreplay. Needless to say, that was a huge WTF moment for me.

So, as a result, I wrote the first edition of this column, and it has sort of
kept going ever since then. Here is the previous entries in the series:

Stupid Fetishes & Paraphilias, Part 1 - Because There is Enough Weirdos In This World For a Part 2 - Plush Toys, Flatulence, Noses, Balloons, "Unbirthing", and Getting Your Privates Pecked at by Chickens & Roosters
