RJ45's Wrestlemania 25

It is THAT time of the year again. Oh yeah, its Wrestlemania time!
So, this is strictly my fantasy card if I were in charge of booking this year's Showcase of the Immortals.
Few notes here:
- These are NOT predictions. (Those are coming later).
- I'm trying to be realistic. (Ie. Evan Bourne is one of my favorites. However, you won't see me booking him in the main event)
- Christian has not officially signed back with WWE. We still don't know if he will, so he's not included.
In the event where a match ends up being interbrand... this is the color key
Red = RAW
Blue = SmackDown!
Black = ECW
So, here we go!
The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels
WHY? So, you have this somewhat compelling and somewhat lame storyline with HBK and JBL right now. Well, HBK screws JBL out of the World Title and now Michaels wants to prove that, at his age, he can still go, and he wants to prove it in his home state of Texas. So, he goes up against another guy who also wants to prove that at his age, he can still go.
HBK and Undertaker both had god-like years in 2008. They were both involved in multiple Match of the Year Candidates. If it wasn't a MOTYC, then they at least gave it their best. Not to mention that the matches that HBK and Undertaker have had in the past have been EXCELLENT.
Of course, The Undertaker will likely win, but it will still be a Rocky Balboa-like moment for both competitors.
Jeff Hardy (champion) vs. Matt Hardy
WHY? Who attacked Jeff Hardy in his hotel room at Survivor Series of 2007? Almost every person who has speculated likes to point to Matt Hardy. Why? Jealousy. Simple as that.
So, Jeff Hardy is now the WWE Champion, and that also pisses Matt off. So now its a grudge match, there are no rules, and the brothers will collide.
Granted, yes, the one-on-one match they had at Armageddon 2001 was pretty shitty, but both men have become much better wrestlers and storytellers since then.
Chris Jericho (champion) vs. Randy Orton
WHY? Randy Orton has lately been on the verge of breaking out as the next big thing. Yeah, I know he's been World Champion and WWE champion already, but he has not even met his full potential yet in terms of
popularity.
Lately, Orton has been gettin cheered heavily. He has basically Steve Austin-like appeal. He may not be as big as Steve Austin or the Rock, but he has potential to be the most popular on the roster right now. So, having him become a tweener (cross between face and heel) may be in WWE's best interests. Pit Orton against the mega-hated uber heat-machine Chris Jericho, and it could be Orton's big moment to break out and evolve.
John Cena vs. Triple H
WHY? Since Batista is injured, we're not getting that rematch this year. So, let us go with a suitable replacement. Triple H and John Cena have had two excellent one-on-one matches. John Cena won the first one at Wrestlemania 22. Triple H won the second at Night of Champions 2008.
So, at one a piece, let them go for one more time to find out the better man really is.
CM Punk vs. Edge
WHY? The seeds for this feud were planted all the way back in July when CM Punk cashed in his Money in the Bank shot to capture the World Title from Edge on RAW.
The Big Show (Representing Vince McMahon) vs. JBL (Representing Stephanie McMahon) vs. Kane (Representing Shane McMahon) vs. The Great Khali (Representing Linda McMahon)
WHY? Well, this isn't exactly a dream match for me, but it looks like WWE wants to have the McMahons feud for the 9,325th time. So, what would I do with this? I would just turn it into a Fatal Four-Way and have a heavy hitter represent each.
Big Show and Vince have worked together a few times already. JBL and Stephanie have basically been semi in cohoots already. Kane can switch from face to tweener to heel in seconds, so having him represent the face Shane wouldn't be much of a stretch. With The Great Khali, they could do the whole Khali Kiss Cam and play off of that comedy with Linda.
Put up 100% control of the company up (which will promplty be forgotten 7 months later), and you got yourself a non-offensive angle and match to settle the score once and for all (until they feud again).
Mr. Kennedy vs. Vladimir Koslov vs.Shelton Benjamin vs. R-Truth vs. Cody Rhodes vs.Ted Dibiase vs. Kofi Kingston vs. William Regal
WHY? I don't need to justify a Money in the Bank match, but I guess I do need to justify each competitor. First of all, Mr. Kennedy is a given. Shelton Benjamin is a fixture of Money in the Bank. R-Truth would make a great addition to the mix. Vladimir Koslov is in there because this way he can be in a big match and not have to get pinned or made to tap out to lose. Kofi Kingston has had an excellent year, as well. Cody Rhodes is Randy Orton's right hand man and him winning could cause an interesting rift in The Legacy, along with his tag team partner Ted Dibiase being thrown in both as the person to help him and the inevitable showdown. William Regal just needs something to do.
So there you go!
Jack Swagger (Champion) vs. Tommy Dreamer
WHY? Tommy Dreamer may not equal a lot of buys, but seriously... who the fuck buys a Pay Per View for an ECW title match anyway? Plus, its Wrestlemania so its going to get a lot of buys anyway.
Jack Swagger is the young cocky rookie. Tommy Dreamer is the veteran who has been on a downfall for the past year. Now, his career hangs in the bounds as he attempts to have one last shot at the ECW Title... a title he has only ever held once (and only for a few minutes). Now, under extreme rules, this could be it for Tommy Dreamer, the Heart and Soul of ECW.
John Morrison & The Miz vs. Rey Mysterio & Evan Bourne
WHY? Assuming Evan Bourne is back by Wrestlemania, I think that if this match was to happen at Mania and given more than 12 minutes, we could have a MOTYC, easily.
Beth Phoenix (w/ Santino Marella & Rosa Mendez) vs. Melina vs. Mickie James vs. Kelly Kelly
WHY? Okay, for the last two Wrestlemanias, we have had some shitty women's matches. Since WWE is switching to a PG-type show, I think its time to have the best Women's match in the history of Wrestlemania (which honors still go to WM22's Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James). Since RAW has the best women's wrestlers (if only Natayla and Victoria could come to RAW), I think pulling the best of what RAW has to offer would be the way to go, definitely.
This would be my list to induct this year:
- The Funks (Inducted by Jim Ross)
- "The Rocket" Owen Hart and Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart (Inducted by Natayla)
- Honky Tonk Man (Inducted by Santino Marella)
- The Von Erichs (Inducted by Jerry Lawler)
- Ron Simmons (Inducted by JBL)
- Carlos Colon (Inducted by Carlito & Primo Colon)
Well, that's all I got. If I could, I would have went to 15 matches, but I know they usually do no more than 10, maybe 11 at Wrestlemania.
So, what would you book if you were in charge of writing Wrestlemania 25? I'd like to hear it!

Honky Tonk Man for the win!
Honky Tonk Man for the win! It's already waaaaay overdue! Gahd, I miss those guitar smashes. However, I think Owen Hart is more deserving to get it.
