WYLFWT.com Video Digest: State of the Union

Video Archives

This is the excellent music video for The Pick's song "State of the Union" featured on his album "Tree" from his Juno Sound Project. I made it back in 2006.

It will be included either as part of the main feature or as an extra on the WYLFWT.com 2009 DVD. I might remix it or even make a sequel. I don't know yet.

I was inspired by his excellent folk song to make this video. Keep in mind this was in the heart of the Bush era. My whole focus was to show "The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Getting a video of Hitler, at the time, meant I had to visit a Nazi website. Yeah, I really really hated it. The video itself is creepy. Anybody who compares anyone such as Bush or even Obama (yeah, I know, idiots) to Hitler has no clue as to what the fuck they are talking about. Watch one of these videos. There is nothing but absolute hate there.

One of the scenes you will see is where a young Asian guy is holding up a paycheck and smiling. That was from a propaganda film about the Japanese Interment Camps during World War 2 (aka "We're not much better than the Nazis" Camps). They were propagating that we were going to train the Asians how to be an American and reintegrate them into society. Basically, 30 minutes of nothing but BULLSHIT. In addition, the host was a white guy dressed up as an Asian and spoke with the accent. Oh yeah, its pretty offensive/funny if you laugh at inappropriate behavior. If I could track that video down again, I would really like to pick it apart sometime because it was fascinating and disturbing all at the same time.

I was told I was pretty ballsy to use the 9/11 crash at the end of the video. I just used it because there was no other effective way to end it.

There's a lot crammed into those 3 minutes and I really hope you enjoy it.
