WYLFWT.com Video Archives: The BOX, Part 1

I think I have been over this one a hundred times, but for those unaware, the Would You Like Fries With That? column had advertisement satires. They were called TPPP (True Psycho Phreak Products). One of the products was "The Box."

In this 2 part series of posts, we will be posting the famous BOX Skits. Part 1 will feature videos from "WYLFWT? - The Home Video" (made in 1999 when we were 15) and part 2 will be from the rest of the videos.

Anyway, here is the exact advertisement from the original column:

"TPPP (True Psycho Phreak Products), your creative marketing geniuses have put yet another product to the public. It's a BOX! Not just any box, you can put stuff in this box. ALL KINDS OF STUFF! Books, magazines, clothes, toilet paper, action figures, fingernails, and even Pringle's Chips. I mean, you can find just about 550 uses for the BOX! So get your BOX today, 7 dollars for each BOX!"

So we got the camera, picked what was possibly the worst angle in the living room, and shot the BOX. The only idea we had was Justin grabbing it and hitting himself over the head with it.

So we shot it, and I went over the many uses of The Box, leading to Justin's head. Of course, the best adlibbed line that I have ever done was, "I bet you are saying to yourself, '40 dollars for this piece of shit?'...EXACTLY!"

The only thing I would have done, had I had the opportunity to do it over again with the tools I had available was just shoot it at a different angle in the room. The light in the back is awful. However, we were inexperienced and just shooting bullcrap for fun.
