WYLFWT.com DVD Teaser

Back in 2004, everyone in my social circle got really excited for the Next Generation DVD when I unveiled the first part of the opening trailer for the vid .

The year is now 2006. According to various sources such as SpicyMan, FlareHolyMeteo, 5iN, The Pick, KatieBug, Brynna, and others...it appears as if I have done it again! My preview audience has given me an excellent response with a nice critique, and I am very pleased with the results. What exactly am I talking about? I am talking about the first half of the opening trailer for WYLFWT.com: The Video 2006! It is very much a journey through trippiness!

I was listening to a song on the way home from work on my CD player, and was struck with a little inspiration. I came up with this idea for what many people have called "Pleasure Overload" or "The Ultimate Expression of Hype."

Well, let me take you from the beginning of the video to the end.

The two video editing programs I used for this entire thing are Ulead Video Studio and Ulead Media Studio. Ulead Video Studio is more simplistic, and I used that to make the basic clips. I used Ulead Media Studio for the more complex parts such as the previous video clips.

It opens up with a recording of my desktop. Clicking start and going to run. Then typing in "www.wylfwt.com." I also had to manually put the SFX in and I think I did okay! For those who are curious, the chick in her underwear in the background is Isla Fisher.

She played "The Hot Psycho" from Wedding Crashers. Hey, you know me, I always drop a scantily clad chick wherever I can!

Then we go to a sound wave. Yup, I just opened the file in my audio editing program and recorded my desktop again. Unfortunately I had to do it in 2 parts and I think I did a good job on syncing the audio with the video. The audio is an old school Dial-Up Modem.

That's where things go even more crazy! I made a picture of binary in Photoshop.

I took that and it looped it through so many times and then just had it flying on both sides of the screen.

Then, I took some art from the art sections and had it flying and merging across the screen. I made two clips. I took those two clips and merged them. Took that clip, and had it flying across the screen. If you are in the art section, you might spot a picture or two of yours!

Next up was really easy. I took the pictures of the bands presently featured on the website and just had go through really quickly while it flies across the screen. At that point, we didn't have many bands so this was a cinch.

FINALLY! The 6 Videos. I took 3 five to six second clips from each WYLFWT? video, and overlayed them with a really neat merging effect. Here are the clip from each video:

Video 3 - Bond 007, Get It, and Blindfold BOX
Video 4 - Redneck Mechanics, Deranged, and Evil @ DayCare Job Interview
Video 5 - The Grand Finale, Paranormal Conspiracies 1, and Gorilla Boofing
Next Generation - Official Franks Fit, The Touch, and COPS

THEN, I made the 2 and a half clip up until that point. I then crammed 150 seconds into 8 and that zoom through and it EXPLODES! WOOO!

Then you get the Coming 2006 message that basically is a Cheap Pop on my part! So that is it. In the final video, when it explodes, you will get the various clips from the skits, videos, poems, etc that are on the DVD. Although now the release date is 2007.

Oh yeah, and the song? "State of Grace" by Journey.
