Top 10 Games That MUST be Released for Wii Virtual Console

Two months ago, I did 10 Possibly Overlooked Games That I'd Like To See on the Virtual Console for Wii. Well, I am back with a sequel Top 10 Games That MUST be Released for Wii Virtual Console! Woo!
In this list, I have included, at least, 1 game from each console's gaming libraries that are right now presently on the Virtual Console. This list is for games that have not been released in America on the Virtual Console, as I know of at least two games on this list that have been released for other nation's VC libraries.
First, Some Honorable Mentions:
- Earthbound (SNES)
- Star Fox (SNES)
- Super Punch-Out!! (SNES)
- Resident Evil 2 (N64) (Note: Would have been included had I not tried to include a game from each console. So consider RE2 #11. Unlike Spinal Tap, this list does not go to eleven.)
10. King of Fighters '98 (NeoGeo)

The King of Fighters series originally was a dream match featuring characters from the Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, Ikari Warriors and Psycho Soldier series. It later evolved over the years into something else. The one game in the series that stands out in my head is The King of Fighters 98. There was no storyline unlike the previous and future games in the series, but to make up for that, the game features pretty much most of the KOF character to up until that point. I would love to see this must have on the Virtual Console!
Biggest problem with NeoGeo games is that size of the games are humongous and the Wii System Memory doesn't really give people that much room with its whopping .5 gigs of storage. I am not sure what "683 megs" translates to in Wii System Memory Blocks (I am guessing "shit load"), but if it is reasonable, this game would be an excellent addition to the collection!
9. Phantasy Star (Sega Master System)

Sega Master System has never had much love in America, and now most American Virtual Console players know it as the system they accidentally bought the wrong Sonic the Hedgehog for.
But, there are some decent games for it, and one of the biggest ommissions so far is the original Phantasy Star. The other three games in the main series are released for Genesis
Hey, if that god awful 3rd entry in the series can be available for purchase, then the original and actually good entry in the series should too.
8. Mortal Kombat (Sega Genesis)

As I mentioned earlier, I am trying to include at least one game from every console that is available on the Virtual Console. The one thing with the Sega Genesis is that they have hit almost every must-have title so far. So, the only one I could come up with right now is the original Mortal Kombat.
Now, Mortal Kombat may not be as deep as Street Fighter II or as complex as (Insert random NeoGeo fighting game). I know I may get crapped on by hardcore gamers for placing this higher than KOF 98, and that's cool. Crap away!
However, at the time, it was quite possibly the biggest thing going for pre-teens and teenagers. (I know, because I was one of them!) The game was simplistic but fun for many. It was also a big party game. Nostalgia alone would sell this game.
MKII and MKIII's SNES versions were superior to the Sega Genesis versions, but Nintendo censored the more graphic fatalities and got rid of all of the blood from the original Mortal Kombat SNES release. So, the Sega Genesis version, with the help of a cheat code anyone could easily acquire, had the blood and the graphic fatalities in the game.
I am not saying this game is great. It is historical and I know many people who would easily use 800 Wii Points to play through and master this game once again..
7. Dracula X (Turbo CD)

I've always loved the Castlevania games. This is the REAL Dracula X video game that was released for the PC Engine CD and not the shitty one that ended up going to SNES. I have had the chance to play it through emulation, and its a pretty amazing game, to say the least.
It has recently been remade for the Sony PSP. That is nice and all. However, I know a lot of people who don't play handhelds that often (in my case, my shitty eyesight can't see the screen very well) and would love to play it on the TV. Plus, a majority Wii owners do tend to go with DS as their handheld and don't really want to purchase a system just for one game!
This is a situation where Japan has this on the Virtual Console, but neither America nor Europe has it. I know one problem would be the voice acting. As far as I am concerned, they can just subtitle the voice acting for all I care. Like with Anime and foreign films, subbed is usually better than dubbed anyway. They can even just get rid of it and put in subtitles if that would be easier.
6. Final Fantasy (NES)

You know, for a company that loves to release a game sixteen different times for several different consoles and make a ton of money from all of them, Square Enix is really missing the boat on the Virtual Console. So far we have received Secret of Mana, Act Raiser and... well, there you go, that's it.
The original Final Fantasy may not have been the best one in the series, but it is still a ground breaking game for its time.
Send us the Final Fantasy games starting with the original, and, at the very least, give America Final Fantasy II (IV) and Final Fantasy III (VI).
5. Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

While this game does not match Ocarina of Time in terms of totally reeking of awesomeness, that does not stop Majora's Mask for being quite an amazing game in and of itself.
Majora's Mask is one of the more unique entries in the series. Link was tricked into entering another dimension and learns the good news. The world is about to be destroyed in three days! SUH-WEET! However, after the three days is up, he gets to relive it again. It is like Groundhog Day: Rise of the Silver Surfer! Okay, I suck at witty pop culture references.
Since this game doesn't require the Controller Pak, then I see no reason for this not to be released on Virtual Console some time down the line and I think it would be well received!
4. Chrono Trigger

I mentioned earlier how Square Enix apparently hates money, that's why they only have released Act Raiser and Secret of Mana for the Virtual Console.
Another game they could make a lot of money off of again is Chrono Trigger. It is one of the most engaging RPGs of all time with easily one of the best storylines you can find in the genre.
Sadly, since Chrono Trigger is getting released for the Nintendo DS, I doubt we will be seeing this anytime soon, which is a shame, to say the last.
3. Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse (NES)

Of the Castlevania games released for the NES, Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse is my personal favorite. This is the game introduced multiple paths and different characters. In fact, this is the game where, fan favorite and star of Symphony of the Night, Alucard debuted!
Europe has this game right now for Virtual Console, but America AND Japan doesn't. It is time for Konami to step on it for both Japan and America!
2. Yoshi's Island: Super Mario World 2 (SNES)

Yoshi's Island has the distinction of daring to be just a little bit different from the other games in the main Super Mario series. Rather than play as Mario, you play as Yoshi who is trying to protect Baby Mario in this series prequel. The game worked out really well, too.
Okay, looking at what is available to the Virtual Console... we have Donkey Kong, Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 1, The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros 2, Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World, and Super Mario 64. We even fucking lame ass Yoshi's Story for crying out loud! That piece of shit was supposedly the sequel to this game. What's the deal with no Yoshi's Island?
AND NOW... for Number 1!

1. Superman 64 (Nintendo 64)

Yes, Superman 64 is easily the best game of all time, bar none. I mean, just look at these amazingly detailed graphics!

While it would still be mind-blowing and probably revolutionize the gaming industry all over again again, personally, I don't think the Wii hardware can handle this kick ass game. The sheer amount of awesomness can only be contained in cartridge form.
Come on, you knew I was kidding, right?
And now for the REAL Number 1!
...
...
...
1. Barney's Hide and Seek (Sega Genesis)

OKAY! OKAY! I'll stop being a douche!

1. Goldeneye 007 (Nintendo 64)

I am going to tell you this right now, I don't even like First Person Shooters. For me, it is due to always suffering from motion sickness. Plus, I don't generally get why games like Halo are so popular as they seem like damn near the same game time in and time out.
However, Goldeneye 007 was the one first person shooter I absolutely loved and got why it was so popular. I didn't even get motion sickness from. I am not sure how that worked out, but I do know I spent many hours with my friends playing Death match mode. This would go on till 2 or 3 in the morning!
I know that there are complications with licensing of James Bond, RARE now being owned by Microsoft (but Nintendo being the Publisher), and god knows what else might be interfering with this release. If they get past all of that legal bullshit, this needs to go on the Virtual Console as this would instantly get included in millions of Virtual Console player's collections.
And that's what we got! Go ahead and contribute your "must haves" that you think just might make an awesome addition to the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console!

Goldeneye is more likely to
Goldeneye is more likely to come to the 360 arcade, there is a version for the arcade, it just hasn't been released as Nintendo re being to proud with their franchise, so it will (probably) never see the light of day
majora's mask
Majora's mask is a hugely under-rated game
But it has to be one of my all time favorite games
The goundhog day premise is cool. The events are timed to the hour, which means lots and lots of little quirks and such to have fun with. So many fun quests, like the cow part at the farm...hilarious, and yet still fun. THe mask system is also fun because of the simple variety of them, totally awsome and underated game. And although not as classic as ocarina, the game is just barely short of beating it out in my mind.

Frankly I'm rather
Frankly I'm rather astonished that Majora's Mask, Yoshi's Island, and Chrono Trigger haven't ALREADY been released on the VC. As for Goldeneye, I regrettably have to agree with the first poster; the ugly, protracted legal battle is not likely to cut Nintendo any slack in our lifetimes...
