10 Possibly Overlooked Games That I'd Like To See on the Wii Virtual Console

The Wii Virtual Console alone provides the Nintendo Wii with probably the most varied line-up of games out there. The assortment

Now over the next few years, we know that we are going to be treated to some all time greats.

There are many obvious games that should come out like Donkey Kong 64, Castlevania III, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Resident Evil 2, the Final Fantasy games, and more.

However, there are several titles that I am sure the majority of consumers and probably the majority of the game producers haven't even thought of, or didn't give it too much thought. I am covering 10 selections that I have made for this

10. Lemmings (NES, SNES, or Genesis)

OH NO! Lemmings is both an addicting and quite sadistic puzzle game where you must get a percentage of Lemmings home. It has been released for so many consoles and if I was to go with a specific port of this game, it would be the Genesis because it also includes some levels from "Oh No! More Lemmings!"

9. Kickle Cubicle (NES)

Yeah, I know, I keep going on about this game that very few people actually played. Really, Kickle Cubicle is a very addicting game that combines puzzle, overhead platform, and what else have you.

Read more about this addicting game here.

8. Disney's Aladdin (Genesis)

Now, don't laugh. Many hardcore gamers know that most licensed games are basically cash-in attempts and are developed hastily to make a profit and they don't really give a shit if the game is really any good or not. Why? Because parents, granparents, and little kids will buy it anyway. The most classic example of this was E.T.

However, there are exceptions to the rule once in awhile. One of those exceptions is Disney's Alladin for the Sega Genesis. This game was developed by the same folks who later went on to make the classic Earthworm Jim. Combine that and the fact that actual Disney animators worked on the game, and you had some pretty spectacular graphics for its time.

So, they can add on an extra 100 points to cover whatever extra has to go to licensing and easily sell this game on Virtual Console.

7. Mischief Makers (N64)

This is the first of two Treasure games that are making this list.

One thing that many of us can agree on is that there simply isn't enough Nintendo 64 games on the Wii Virtual Console. Most of that is due to playability and the inability to emulate the Controller Pak, rendering many games impossible to complete because you can not save them.

Well, here is a game that doesn't use the Controller Pak, and is developed by one of the greatest developers in existence. Forget Yoshi's Story, Mischief Makers is the real definite 2D Sidescroller for the Nintendo 64, and it was very underrated at the time. In today's market with the Virtual Console, it deserves to be enjoyed by a whole new audience.

6. Battletoads (NES)

These Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles knock-offs were created by those guys known as RARE. It may also be known as perhaps one of the most difficult games ever, but it has some great gameplay.

The biggest issue here is the fact that Microsoft owns RARE now, so this may never see the light of day on the Virtual Console, which is such a waste because I know many people who remember this game rather fondly, difficulty and all.

5. League Bowling (Neo Geo)

League Bowling is one of my guiltiest pleasures.

I know that with Wii Bowling, League Bowling may not see the light of day, but I think there's no harm in them releasing it. Its addicting. It has personality, and its got great gameplay!

4. Super Smash TV (Genesis, or SNES)

How has this classic managed to be avoided so far? Smash TV is an arcade classic from Williams that has a small devoted following. It deserves it too because its quite an addicting game. Here is basically a perfectly good cash cow that Midway is just sitting on at the moment.

3. Rocket Knight Adventures (Genesis)

This is another game from the great develoopers known as Treasure. I remember being 12 years old and being dissapointed at the store when this was the only game I could pick up because it was $20 and that's all I had. Well, it turned out to be one of the best games I owned, too. It is addicting. It is difficult, but not impossible, like most Treasure games are.

This game is hugely addicting and I think that it should be given its due
on Nintendo Wii Virtual Console.

2. Zombies Ate My Neighbors (SNES or Genesis)

You either loved or you hated Zombies Ate My Neighbors, but no one can deny just the following that this game still has. Back when I was just a Little RJ45, WYLFWT.com Team Member and best friend, Little 5iN owned this game for his SNES. Well, Little 5iN, Little RJ45, and other WYLFWT.com Team Member Little Mortis would spend just hours playing this addicting game. It combines both mindless action & violence with some strategy needed to complete the levels.

The SNES version is the superior version, but I think everyone would settle
for the Genesis version, if needed.

1. Shaq-Fu (Genesis AND SNES)

We all know the storyline by now...

O'Neal wanders into a kung fu dojo while heading to a heavily emphasized charity basketball game in Tokyo, Japan. There, he stumbles into another dimension, where he is forced to rescue a young boy named Nezu from the evil mummy Sett-Ra.

Easily, Shaq-Fu is one of the greatest games of all time!

Just kidding!

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game (NES)

Remember that whole speech I gave about licensed games for Disney's Alladin? Well, here is another exception to that rule... Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game, a classic beat'em up side scroller. This game was based off of the popular coin-op game. The graphics were not as good as the arcade version, but the great gameplay was still there, and they added two levels to help offset it!

We have the original TMNT NES game on Virtual Console, which just wasn't that great. So, I feel that they should release the real classic TMNT game, and that is this one. The arcade version is available for X-Box Live, so give Wii owners a chance to see why TMNT is one of the best licensed games of all time.

And that's what we got! Go ahead and contribute your rare gems that you think just might make an awesome addition to the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console!

Super Smash TV Out Already

Smash TV is already out on the XBox Live Arcade. Seeing that, I'm guessing that Microsoft owns that license for the game, so I don't think we're going to see a port for the Virtual Console.

However Shaq-Fu...
