Was This Review Helpful To You? #7 - Being A Good Sport
"RJ! In response to your last Was This Review Helpful To You?, I have to say that I'm a part-time Juggalo myself and I feel you were a bit too hard on them."
Okay, okay...I give! I really do. WTRHTY? is dedicated to making fun of stupid fans of any fanbase. So, to be fair, in this edition, I am going to make fun of the stupid fans of my personal fanbases!
Foir those unaware, Was This Review Helpful To You? makes fun of some of the reviews posted on Amazon.com. On Amazon.com, basically anyone that knows how to type can write a review. Some of them are pretty impressive and some of them are a complete joke. I, of course, pick out the complete joke of a review. They don't provide any information as to why they like or not like something. They go on totally unrelated to the actual product tangents (e.g. "Lars Ulrich is a greedy douchebag. Metallica's ...And Justice For All gets 1 Star!") The grammar may be horrible. There is anything that could totally taint a review, and that is where I come in!
So, we take on stupid fans of RJ45's fanbases so that way he come off less partial for future editions...especially after The Juggalo and EMO editions. So, I believe that is my cue to get this party started!

A Def Leppard would grealty enjoy this CD! One of their best!
Was this review helpful to you? Aww, darn. Unfortunately, only 10 legs & 9 arms, and 5 heads will enjoy this album, and they are on the cover.
I LOVE IT! I HATE IT!

Now I Know Why It's Called "13", May 27, 2003
Reviewer: A music fan
I have always enjoyed the band Journey and this CD had potential except that it only 13 minutes of music dispersed over 4 songs. It certainly would have been a wonderful album if it was a full-sized CD. Of course the music is good but I am disappointed because they didn't think enough of their long-term fans to finish the album.
Was this review helpful to you? He likes the music on the EP, but he gives it 1 star? Yeah, that makes a lot of fucking sense! So you think its short? Its an EP! I agree the music on the EP is good, otherwise I wouldn't have used it in the WYLFWT.com DVD 2007 Teaser, but you don't review a VHS tape as a DVD. You review it as a VHS tape! Same thing applies when reviewing an EP rather than an LP!

Of Bad Metaphors and Not Actually Listening To the Source Material When Reviewing The Material...
Product: "End of Heartache" by Killswitch Engage
Generic Metal, March 15, 2006
Reviewer: T. Gore "old_sckool" (Neu Joisy)
Every need that certain part for your car, and you decided that you didn't want to go with something that was OEM, cause it was to expensive? SO you bought the genric part that wasn't as good, yet it did the job. That is exactly what Killswitch Engage is. A generic metal band that sounds just 1000 other bands, with nothing creative, just a bunch of screaming and easy guitar riffs, with drumming that is terrible. I love Metal, so I am not ripping the fact that Killswitch is all sceaming, which is fine, but its not even good screaming. Its just generic screams and shrills that sound like every other s**tty Nu MEtal band. These guys are nothing special, and there are so many bands that blow these guys out of the water, that I say "Why Bother" If you want Nu Metal, at least stick with Mudvayne, Linkin Park, or Staind. At least those bands are more creative, with better muscians, and much better music. These guys suck, and you can tell they are total posers of Metal. Just like that Car Part, get some "Real" Metal and stop settling for the same old generic thing.
Was this review helpful to you? This review wouldn't have been so bad if the reviewer had, oh, I don't know, ACTUALLY LISTENED TO THE ALBUM! For one, Killswitch Engage isn't all screaming. You would find that out if you played the first 2 minutes of the CD where the music slows down and Howard (or Jesse, depending on the album) goes from screaming and breaking into some rather beautiful clean vocals. Not only that, but they definitely NOT Nu Metal. Aside from Hardcore influences as opposed to Hip Hop influences, the lyrics cover topics such as faith, love, and spiritual enlightenent as opposed to the standard Nu Metal suicide, sexual perversity, and hatred. As a future note to this guy, do your research before you go ripping on a band you've obviously never listened to.
As this edition's special bonus, to once again show you all that I am a good sport...
I WRITE BAD REVIEWS
As I like to remind people, I am not always a good writer. There is an infinite amount of blunders that I had written throughout the past years (including a few here on WYLFWT.com). So, I went through the RJ45 archives and found a review I wrote back in 2004...just to prove to you that I am more than willing to throw myself up here with the rest of them!
The biggest issue with this review is that my attempts to be reasonable still come off unreasonable. It is great! Oh yeah, and I obviously don't know what I am talking about but pretend I do. Glad I at least fooled 4 out of 5 people.
St. Anger (with Bonus DVD) ~ Metallica

A more rational review of the album..., February 10, 2004
I do agree with many of the reviews of this album, but I think many of them off as immature. Saying, "They used to be good, but now they suck," claiming it to be poor Nu-Metal, or anything else doesn't really state as to why this album is very weak.
I believe that their best albums Kill Em' All to ...And Justice For All. However, I feel that Black was a great album that propelled them to the top of the Metal genre. I really enjoyed Load and ReLoad. I felt that Garage Inc. was an average album, but it had some strong points. S&M, I feel, is one of the best live albums in existence. I only wish they would do a studio album with an orchestra.
However, St. Anger is where Metallica literally "jumped the shark" so to speak. I am always a fan of bands experimenting, which is why I loved S & M. However, this album is simply over-produced. It is not "raw" like some people claim it to be. If anything, it needs to be stripped down.
I wouldn't say it is Nu-Metal. I think what people are driving at is that this album mostly comes off as loud noise. None of it even seems to make sense. It comes off as one of those weird ridicously experimental CDs that some odd teenager forces you to listen to.
I agree with everyone when I say that the constant clang clang clang is what ruined the whole album for me. I think if they removed that, shortened the songs to one loop, (St. Anger is basically the same thing repeated three times)...then this album would have been given at the very least average reviews instead of what everybody is giving it right now.
Also, this more than beyond proves that the Grammy just picks the most corporate for it's awards, as it shows in their choice of St. Anger being the Best Metal Song of the Year.
I encourage everyone, if they are really thinking about spending 15 dollars on this CD, borrow it from someone first. I am not saying this isn't a likeable album, but I did not personally enjoy it at all.
Was This Review Helpful To You? Oh, like you even know what "raw" and "stripped down" means, so don't even pretend. "An experimental CD that some odd teenager forces you to listen to?" What the hell is that all about and what does that have to do with anything? Wish they do an orchestra? What the bloody hell is wrong with this guy? I don't know...I certainly don't know him...
That pretty much does it for today! As per usual, feedback is always appreciated.
