The Spam Has Arrived on Last.FM
I have to admit that I love Last.FM. Over the last 7 or so odd months, I have been really enjoying discovering new music.
For those of you unaware, Last.FM is a social network centered around your music listening. It tracks what you listen to and recommends new artists. You can also generate your own radio stations similar to how Pandora does it, but I think they do it a little bit better.
I've done the social networking thing for a few years now. I know the score by now.
However, I was saddened to see this in my inbox the other day.
Simply irresistable!
It is the infamous MySpace spammers all over again! Only now I can deal with these dumbshits on Last.FM. My favorite line is "I think you and I should probably be friends, cause you seem pretty fun, and possibly cute! (it's so tough to tell in this digital world :)"
Well, the only reason I find that line to be entertaining is that because THIS is my profile pic:

With myself being an actual descendant of the Apache tribe, I have to say "Who doesn't love Tommy Seebach?"
Of course, not withstanding the obvious spam-ish overtones of the private message, the profile pretty much gives its fakeness away rather quickly.
Might help if you listen to a couple of tracks first, you dumbshit!
Of course, Googling her s/n "saucee_baby" will reveal several fake Friendster accounts as well. Great, just what Last.FM needed, some spamming cocksuckers trying to lure us to their shitty shitty dating websites and helping us "Earn Money By Taking Surveys!"
I can't contain the excitement that I feel right now. However, I am sure WWE's legendary superstar and current movie star, THE ROCK has something to say...
