Flare Time 36 / Was This Review Helpful To You? #12

Internet Insanity

Hey, this is FlareHolyMeteo here with another Flare Time. This time, I've decided to do my own little edition of "Was This Review Helpful To You?" in this crossover column! I did it mostly on bands that I like (New Found Glory being the exception...death to EMO!) I also do a bit of a political rant at the very end.

Since RJ45 insisted, I will put his "getting new readers caught up" paragraph here: "For those unaware, Was This Review Helpful To You? makes fun of some of the reviews posted on Amazon.com. On Amazon.com, basically anyone that knows how to type can write a review. Some of them are pretty impressive and some of them are a complete joke. I, of course, pick out the complete joke of a review. They don't provide any information as to why they like or not like something. They go on totally unrelated to the actual product tangents (e.g. "Lars Ulrich is a greedy douche bag. Metallica's ...And Justice For All gets 1 Star!") The grammar may be horrible. It could be anything. If it totally taints a review, that is where I come in!"

I hope you enjoy reading.

Product: "Fallen" by Evanescence

I am not a fan, December 26, 2006

By  N. Vann "CandyGirl" (Maryland)
I am not a fan of evanescense. I never knew who they were until I saw a video. This is the only song that I have heard from them " My Immortal". This song is great. My friends were looking at me asking me what the heck I was listening to. I rate her (them) a 5 because of that great song. I would not buy the CD because she (they) look demonic(evil).

Was This Review Helpful To You?   Oooooo....scary...scary. The evil Evanescence will eat your children in their sleep. In fact, they sing about it in Bring Me To Life. You may think it about the time Amy met her current husband, but no, it's actually, about how Satan brought Fred Phelps to life in his "religious" crusades. My Immortal, that's the most demonic song on there! Hell, it was on the DareDEVIL soundtrack. Get it, DEVIL, EVIL, MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

 Product: "Oceanborn" by Nightwish

let's get one thing straight, December 12, 2004

By king wolf

Listen. Metal music with female vocals does not work. Metal is about power. Men have power in their vocals. Women do not. This is because women do not have nearly as much testosterone as men do. Testosterone is the basis of metal music and of the bombastic romantic-era classical music that is its spiritual predecessor. This is simple. Real men listen to real metal music. Real women do not. Androgynous half-men and half-women listen to half-baked bands like Nightwish.

Was This Review Helpful To You? Wow, what a fucking joke dude. There are many women with powerful vocals, you just have to ignore the whiny shit like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. Also, this tells us NOTHING about the album, which I'm currently listening to and loving by the way...

Aside from the fact that he doesn't know shit about metal, he rants about testosterone along with calling all listeners of Nightwish Androgynous AND in the same breath gives rave reviews to Journey (Their worst album, to boot).

Another Nightwish review...

Ouch that hurts, July 14, 2004

By a music-fan

I don't even own any of nightwish's CD's but i am glad i could review it and thankfully never have to say i actually own any of thier cd's. They may be good and all that i will never know just not my style.

I recommended kidney thieves to a forum and Nightwish was a recommendation in return

Was This Review Helpful To You? Well, okay, attempting to listen to the CD is a prerequisite to knowing how good it is, now isn't it? Also, learn capitalization!

Dark Side Of The Moon

Product: "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd

The best album of all time

By A music fan

thats pretty much i

Was This Review Helpful To You? This album is not just exquisite, not just a masterpiece. The correct phrase to describe Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon is "thats pretty much i." The ULTIMATE phrase.

I would actually just like some help, November 19, 2003

By: Abby Henes (Creighton, NE United States)

hey, im trying to get a christmas present for my parents. i was told that their "song" was "Knights in White Satin." does anyone know if this is just a misinterpretation of "Nights in White Satin?" ive done a google search and found it spelled both ways. thanks for any help anyone can give me. email me at abbyhenes@hotmail.com asap.

Was This Review Helpful To You? Hey, ever heard of looking at the play list that is in the middle of the page? Also, when has a knight ever worn white satin? Only these douche bags:

Looking at some of the lyrics to Nights in White Satin:

Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore.

Cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.

That is clearly KKK propaganda all the way dude!!!

I'd rather listen to talk radio that consists of Alvin and the Chipmunks commenting on grass growing than this propaganda. I feel sorry for the people who actually read this garbage and believe it. All this list will ever do is encourage one to be a stupid drone, which is exactly what the government likes. You can read my rant on how much of a fucking cunt (a word I NEVER use) Ann Coulter is at Flare Time 18.

A Bill O'Reilly mini-rant:

Bill O'Reilly just needs to shut the fuck up, period. His existence is poisonous to our society as he continues to blame all of America's problems on liberals, when he himself, while preaching against Bill Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky, was having extramarital affairs himself involving sexual fantasies with falafels! He calls any sort of dissent "far left" and scares people into thinking that President Bush holds all of the answers. The sad thing is that people fall for this crap.

*END RANT*

I hope you all enjoyed this. It was a lot of fun. I might even take on some of the other columns here including a full Inspiring You, MySpace People, Fun With Image Search, or anything of the sort. Just let me know what you think!
