Drawing Down The Moon

I've fallen in love with a wildly unlikely and yet marvelously romantic series of House/Wilson slash fan fics by Live Journal's ruby_took known as "Waking Dream - A Werewolf Saga." It's one of the more poignant works I've read in awhile and absolutely worth the time to read.

I've done very little with animals, so this was a bit of a stretch for me. Also, Poser animal models tend to come out perfectly smooth with no illusion of furriness at all except for the texture map that shows the grain of the fur... flat against the animal. That's where a scruffy Photoshop brush came in handy - I used it to lift the texture of the two wolves, roughen out the edges of the fur and make them both look they actually had fur. Oddly enough, this render only cost me two of my evenings, mostly because there weren't many props to slow things down.
